Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of MAVS hardware devices and associated software services provided by Crateso ("we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing or using MAVS, you agree to these Terms.

1. Product Description

MAVS (Multi-Agent Voice Switcher) is a hardware and software platform that enables:

  • Voice-activated interaction with multiple AI agents
  • Seamless switching between configured agents
  • Hardware-accelerated voice processing
  • SDK and API access for developers

2. Purchase & Warranty

2.1 Hardware Warranty

  • 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects
  • Warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, or misuse
  • Warranty claims processed through support@crateso.com

2.2 Returns

  • 30-day return window for unused, unopened products
  • 14-day return window for opened products (restocking fee may apply)
  • Defective units may be exchanged within warranty period

2.3 Pre-Orders

  • Pre-order payments are charged at time of order
  • Shipping dates are estimates and may change
  • Full refunds available before shipment

3. Software & Services

3.1 License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Use MAVS firmware and companion apps
  • Access MAVS cloud services for device functionality
  • Use the SDK for personal or commercial development (per SDK license)

3.2 Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble MAVS firmware
  • Remove or modify proprietary notices
  • Use MAVS for illegal activities
  • Circumvent device security or DRM measures

4. Third-Party Services

MAVS connects to third-party AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.):

  • You are responsible for complying with third-party terms
  • Third-party API costs are your responsibility
  • We are not responsible for third-party service outages or changes
  • Your API keys are stored securely but you are responsible for their security

5. Account Requirements

  • You must be 18+ or have parental consent to use MAVS
  • One MAVS account per user
  • You are responsible for account security
  • Accurate account information is required

6. Developer Terms

If you use the MAVS SDK or API:

  • The SDK is provided under the MIT License (see repository)
  • API usage is subject to rate limits and fair use
  • You may not use the API to create competing hardware products
  • Attribution is required for open-source components

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MAVS to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Distribute malware or malicious content
  • Overwhelm or attack our services or third-party services

8. Service Availability

  • Cloud services are provided "as is"
  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime
  • Maintenance windows will be announced when possible
  • Core device functionality works offline

9. Firmware Updates

  • Updates may be required for security and functionality
  • Critical security updates may be installed automatically
  • Feature updates require user consent
  • Refusing updates may limit functionality

10. Intellectual Property

MAVS hardware designs, firmware, software, and documentation are owned by Crateso. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission, except as permitted by the SDK license.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • MAVS is provided "as is" without warranties
  • We are not liable for third-party service issues
  • Maximum liability is limited to the purchase price
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages

12. Termination

  • You may stop using MAVS at any time
  • We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Device functionality may be limited upon account termination
  • Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
