Welcome to SLAPP – Story Layering And Production Platform ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application and website (collectively, the "Service") collect, use, and disclose information about you.

SLAPP is an intelligent story-building platform that combines a full writing suite, a fluid storyboard maker, and a living narrative engine into one creative system. By using SLAPP, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our real-time collaboration features.

A. Information You Provide

  • Account Information: We collect email address and authentication credentials to create and secure your account.
  • User Content: Any story content you create—including characters, scenes, places, storyboards, and narrative structures—is stored in our database to provide the Service.
  • Profile Data: If you choose to provide it, we collect your display name, avatar image, and preferences.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access SLAPP, including the hardware model, operating system and version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: We track interactions with the Service, such as when you create a board or merge notes, to improve app performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide the Service: We use your data to power your story projects, track narrative elements, maintain continuity, and sync content across devices.
  • AI Processing: When you use AI-assisted features (writing assistance, storyboard generation, SLAPP merging, story analysis), your content is processed by our AI systems to provide intelligent suggestions. This data is processed temporarily and is not used to train third-party AI models.
  • Communication: We use your email to send you authentication codes and important service updates.

3. How We Share Information

  • Collaboration: If you choose to share a project, content within that project is visible to collaborators you invite.
  • Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our Service:
    • Cloud Infrastructure: For database hosting, authentication, and data storage.
    • AI Providers: For processing content during writing assistance, storyboard generation, and story analysis features.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal processes.

4. Data Security

We use Supabase for our backend infrastructure, which employs enterprise-grade security standards.

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest.
  • Access Control: We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that only members of a specific Board can read or write data to that Board.

5. Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your account and data at any time.

  • In-App: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • By Request: Email us at privacy@slapp.co.

Upon deletion, your profile information and story projects are removed from our live database immediately. Content in shared projects may remain visible to collaborators unless you manually delete it before closing your account.

6. Children's Privacy

SLAPP is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
