Your Right to Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We are committed to honoring your privacy rights and making the deletion process straightforward.
How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: In-App Deletion
The fastest way to delete your account and data:
- Open Kiva and go to Settings
- Select "Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@crateso.com with:
- Subject: "Data Deletion Request - Kiva"
- Include: The email address associated with your account
- Include: "I request deletion of my account and all associated data"
What Gets Deleted
When you request deletion, we will remove:
- Your account profile and settings
- All conversations and messages
- Connection history and preferences
- AI-generated insights and summaries
- Any saved memories or reflections
- Usage data and analytics tied to your account
What We May Retain
Certain information may be retained as required by law or legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records for tax/legal compliance (typically 7 years)
- Communications related to support tickets (for quality assurance)
- Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you
- Information necessary to prevent fraud or abuse
Processing Time
- In-App Deletion: Immediate account deactivation, full deletion within 30 days
- Email Request: We will respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days
- Backup Systems: Data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed
Before You Delete
Please consider:
- This action is irreversible - We cannot recover deleted data
- Export your data first - Contact us if you want a copy of your data before deletion
- Active subscriptions - Cancel any subscriptions before deleting to avoid future charges
- Shared content - Connections you've made with others will also be removed
Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This may include:
- Confirmation from the email address on file
- Answering security questions
- Providing additional identification for sensitive requests
