Your Right to Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We are committed to honoring your privacy rights and making the deletion process straightforward.
How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: In-App Deletion
The fastest way to delete your account and data:
- Open SLAPP and go to Settings
- Select "Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@slapp.co with:
- Subject: "Data Deletion Request - SLAPP"
- Include: The email address associated with your account
- Include: "I request deletion of my account and all associated data"
What Gets Deleted
When you request deletion, we will remove:
- Your account profile and email
- Display name and avatar image
- Your story projects, characters, scenes, and all narrative content
- Storyboards and visual assets
- Usage data and analytics tied to your account
What May Remain
Certain content may remain after account deletion:
- Shared Project Content: Content you contributed to shared projects may remain visible to collaborators unless you manually delete it before closing your account
- SLAPP-Merged Content: Story elements you merged with collaborators' content may remain in shared projects
- Legal Records: Transaction records for tax/legal compliance (typically 7 years)
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you
Processing Time
- In-App Deletion: Immediate account deactivation, full deletion within 30 days
- Email Request: We will respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days
- Backup Systems: Data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed
Before You Delete
Please consider:
- This action is irreversible - We cannot recover deleted story projects or data
- Export your work first - Download your stories and content before deleting if you want to keep copies
- Remove shared content - If you don't want your contributions visible to collaborators after you leave, delete them from shared projects first
- Transfer project ownership - Projects you created will need a new owner or will be deleted
- Active subscriptions - Cancel any subscriptions before deleting to avoid future charges
Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This may include:
- Confirmation via email to your registered address
- Answering security questions
- Providing additional identification for sensitive requests
