Your Right to Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We are committed to honoring your privacy rights and making the deletion process straightforward.

How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1: In-App Deletion

The fastest way to delete your account and data:

  1. Open SLAPP and go to Settings
  2. Select "Account"
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@slapp.fun with:

  • Subject: "Data Deletion Request - SLAPP"
  • Include: The phone number associated with your account
  • Include: "I request deletion of my account and all associated data"

What Gets Deleted

When you request deletion, we will remove:

  • Your account profile and phone number
  • Display name and avatar image
  • Your board memberships
  • Usage data and analytics tied to your account

What May Remain

Certain content may remain after account deletion:

  • Content on Shared Boards: Slaps (sticky notes) you posted to shared boards may remain visible to other group members unless you manually delete them before closing your account
  • Merged Notes: AI-merged notes that combined your content with others' content may remain on shared boards
  • Legal Records: Transaction records for tax/legal compliance (typically 7 years)
  • Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you

Processing Time

  • In-App Deletion: Immediate account deactivation, full deletion within 30 days
  • Email Request: We will respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days
  • Backup Systems: Data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed

Before You Delete

Please consider:

  • This action is irreversible - We cannot recover deleted data
  • Delete your Slaps first - If you don't want your notes visible to group members after you leave, delete them from shared boards before closing your account
  • Leave or delete your Boards - Boards you created will need a new owner or will be deleted
  • Active subscriptions - Cancel any subscriptions before deleting to avoid future charges

Verification

To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This may include:

  • Confirmation via SMS to your registered phone number
  • Answering security questions
  • Providing additional identification for sensitive requests
