Your Right to Be Forgotten

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from Trauma Box at any time. We respect your decision to escape the containment zone, even if the void will miss you.

Under various privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have the right to have your data erased. We take this seriously, even if we don't take much else seriously.

How to Request Data Deletion

Send an email to privacy@crateso.com with the following information:

  • Subject Line: "Data Deletion Request - Trauma Box"
  • Include: The email address associated with your account
  • Include: "I request deletion of my personal data and account"
  • Optional: Your display name (helps us locate your account faster)

We will verify your identity before processing the deletion to ensure someone isn't trying to delete your chaos without permission.

What Gets Deleted

Upon processing your request, we will delete:

  • Account Profile: Your email, display name, and account settings
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials and session information
  • Token Balance: Your current token balance (not that it had value anyway)
  • Unlock History: Records of content you've unlocked
  • Transaction History: Your token transaction records
  • Activity Data: Platform usage and interaction logs

What Happens to Your Content

If you're a creator with published content:

  • Your Content: Will be removed from the platform
  • Token Earnings: Historical token totals are anonymized in the House Tally
  • Attribution: Your name will be removed from all content

If you want to delete your account but keep your content published, please specify this in your request. We can anonymize your content instead of removing it.

What We May Retain

Certain data may be retained for legal or operational reasons:

  • Legal Compliance: Records required by law (tax records, legal disputes)
  • Fraud Prevention: Data needed to prevent abuse of deletion requests
  • Aggregated Statistics: Anonymized data that cannot identify you (e.g., total platform token counts)
  • Backup Retention: Data in backups may persist for up to 30 days post-deletion

Processing Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: Within 5 business days of receiving your request
  • Verification: We may contact you to verify identity (1-3 days)
  • Deletion: Completed within 30 days of verified request
  • Confirmation: You'll receive confirmation when deletion is complete

Before You Go

Consider these alternatives if you're not sure about full deletion:

  • Content Removal Only: Remove your published content while keeping your account
  • Account Deactivation: Temporarily disable your account (we don't currently offer this, but we could if enough people ask)
  • Privacy Settings: Adjust what information is publicly visible

Consequences of Deletion

Please understand that account deletion is permanent and results in:

  • Loss of your token balance (which had no monetary value anyway)
  • Loss of access to previously unlocked content
  • Removal of your creator profile and content
  • Inability to recover the account
  • A small, imperceptible sense of loss in the void
