Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Trauma Box, a digital containment unit operated by Crateso ("we," "us," "the house," "the middleman").
By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please close this tab and contemplate safer hobbies, like stamp collecting.
By clicking "I Agree," creating an account, or continuing to use the platform, you acknowledge that you have read these terms. Or at least scrolled past them very quickly. Same thing, legally speaking. (Not legal advice.)
2. What We Are
Trauma Box is:
- A platform for darkly comedic content
- Home of "Absolutely Terrible Children's Stories" and other questionable artifacts
- An open marketplace where creators can publish and earn tokens
- A digital containment unit for content that probably shouldn't exist
Trauma Box is not:
- Appropriate for children
- A source of actual financial income
- Therapy (please consult a professional)
- Something you should mention on a first date
3. The Chaos Economy
Our platform operates on a token-based system with the following properties:
- Random Assignment: Tokens are randomly assigned to users. There is no purchase option.
- No Monetary Value: Tokens have zero real-world monetary value. You cannot cash out. They are worthless everywhere except here.
- Content Unlocking: Tokens are spent to unlock content created by other users.
- Creator Split: Creators receive 90% of tokens spent on their content. The house keeps 10% as a containment fee.
- Transparency: The House Tally is publicly visible, showing the total split.
Since tokens have no monetary value, there are no earnings to tax. You can fire your accountant. Or keep them. We're not your life coach.
4. User Accounts
When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain the security of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
- Not share your account with others
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in behavior we deem harmful to the platform or other users.
5. Creator Responsibilities
If you submit content to the platform, you warrant that:
- The content is your original work, or you have the legal right to distribute it
- If you stole someone else's trauma, that's on you, not us
- You own 100% of your intellectual property — we acquire no long-term rights
- We solely facilitate the transaction and collect a 10% containment fee per unlock
Prohibited Content
Content must not contain:
- Actual harmful instructions or guides to illegal activity
- Real people's private information (doxxing)
- Content that exploits minors in any way
- Content that constitutes harassment of specific individuals
- Anything that would make even us uncomfortable — and our bar is flexible
Dark humor about historical events is our thing. Actual harm is not.
6. Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain all rights to content you create and submit. Trauma Box does not claim ownership of user-generated content.
Our Content: The Trauma Box brand, "Absolutely Terrible Children's Stories," our original content, and platform design are owned by Crateso and protected by intellectual property laws.
License to Display: By submitting content, you grant us a license to display, distribute, and facilitate transactions involving your content on the platform. This license terminates when you remove your content.
7. User Conduct
When using our platform, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the rights of others
- Transmit harmful code or interfere with our systems
- Attempt to manipulate the token system
- Harass other users or creators
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Use automated systems to access the platform without permission
8. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to:
- Remove content that violates these terms
- Suspend or ban users who repeatedly violate policies
- Make final decisions on content disputes
We will not modify, alter, or edit your content without your explicit permission. Your typos are your own.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our platform and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Content will always be available
- The token system will function perfectly at all times
- Your existential dread will be resolved
We will maintain the platform in a reasonably functional state. "Reasonably functional" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trauma Box and Crateso shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Content posted by other users
- Token transactions or balances
- Emotional damage from reading terrible children's stories
- Discovering your true Atrocity Aptitude score
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Crateso operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Contact Information
For questions about these Terms of Service:
- Email: legal@crateso.com
- Response Policy: We read messages when we feel like it. Response time varies based on the phase of the moon and our collective existential state.
